A Thousand Words…
This image has been on my mind a lot, lately.

A web search attributes this image to designer Joey Roth in 2010, but it has been the anonymous lock-screen on my phone on and off for years without knowing the true origin.
It speaks to me because, through many a start-up or (sigh) entrepreneurial adventure, I’ve always skewed to the higher-work, lower-talk martyr style. But, despite the negative connotation with the word “martyr” it can, you know, work. At least, it can if you pair my obsessive doing personality with the “charlatan” type can talk the big game on my behalf. Because, you know, and in the aggregate, it averages out.
That’s the theory.
But these days I’m less about the long grueling hours of making things happen out of a sense of duty while others pocket the accolades and more about making things happen that get appreciated for their own merits.
I know, ridiculous concept that I’m having far, far too late in life. Let’s see where it takes us!
